Bipalium kewense
Bipalium kewense is often known as the hammerhead flatworm. They are invertebrates and have no skeleton. they do however, have a distinct structure, being that they are known as land planarians, a small group of Platyhelminthes that are neither marine or parasitic. As with other flatworms, the mouth also serves as an anus, and is present near mid-body on the ventral surface. It is basically a retractable pharynx that is attached to a three-branched intestine. The space between organs is filled with parenchyma (cellular tissue lying between the body wall and the organs of invertebrates, basically filler tissue.) they have circular, longitudinal muscles. Finally, there is cerebral ganglion which serves as a brain, with a subsequently ladder-shaped nervous system.
